Embracing Life Through Art and Inspiration.
Jean-Philippe Couderc is a French-American artist whose work explores the boundaries of identity, perception, and form through figurative and experimental portraiture. His practice bridges classical training with contemporary inquiry, often focusing on the human figure.

I find immense joy in the beauty of life and the creative process. Born in Lyon, France, and now living in New York State, I’ve always been inspired by the richness of human expression and the world around me. For me, art is a way to pause and appreciate the simple yet profound moments that make life extraordinary.
Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in painting and drawing, not just as a pursuit but as a way of connecting with others and celebrating the world’s inherent beauty. I’ve been fortunate to showcase my work in exhibitions in New-York including New-York City (Salmagundi), and across the US. (Connecticut, Georgia, and various places and galleries) and in Europe, sharing these glimpses of life and creativity with others.
My journey has also allowed me to learn from exceptional mentors, including Steve Carpenter (Rochester, NY), Simona Moritz (FAA, Florence, Italy), and Tommy Boureau (ADG, Florence, Italy). These experiences have enriched my approach, encouraging me to explore techniques in charcoal, oil, and pastels.
To me, life and art are inseparable—they both invite us to slow down, reflect, and find meaning in the everyday. Through my work, I hope to share that sense of wonder and discovery with others.
