Group in the Loop (GITL) Studio – Code of Behavior for Artists

To ensure a respectful, creative, and welcoming environment, all artists attending sessions at the GITL studio are expected to follow the guidelines below:

1. Respect for Models

  • Treat models with professionalism and courtesy at all times.

  • No photography, video, or audio recording of models is permitted without prior explicit consent.

  • Maintain a quiet and focused atmosphere during posing times.

  • Always respect the model’s personal space; do not touch the model or their belongings.

2. Respect for Fellow Artists

  • The studio is a place of camaraderie, not competition.

  • Be supportive and encouraging of other artists, regardless of their skill level or experience.

  • Avoid disruptive conversations during working time; keep socializing to breaks and the designated social hours.

3. Studio Etiquette

  • Arrive on time to avoid disrupting the session.

  • Bring your own materials and clean up your workspace before leaving.

  • Handle studio furniture, easels, and lights with care.

  • Respect the time limits for poses and breaks; follow the session leader’s direction.

4. Conduct During Sessions

  • All sessions are for adults only unless otherwise noted.

  • Nude models (male and female) are part of the artistic practice — all artists must maintain professionalism.

  • Food and drinks are welcome in designated areas but should not interfere with the work environment.

5. Health & Safety

  • Follow all safety guidelines regarding lighting, electrical equipment, and studio space.

  • Report any incidents or hazards to the studio organizers immediately.

  • By participating, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and agree to follow the studio’s disclaimer and liability waiver.

6. Community Spirit

  • The GITL thrives on collaboration and shared growth.

  • Contribute positively to the atmosphere: share ideas, exchange techniques, and help maintain a welcoming space for all.

  • Remember that the studio is built on mutual respect, creativity, and friendship.

By attending GITL sessions, you agree to uphold this code of behavior and contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inspiring community space.
